You’ll hear the waves crashing on the beach and the wind rustling in the 100-year-old trees as you observe one of the most highly sought-after landscapes on earth.
The level of seclusion is almost like camping—except you also have the comfort and convenience of an immaculate and expertly furnished home! If you can peel yourself away from the beach and rolling dunes, you’ll find a modern kitchen, an open entertaining space with a fireplace, and four luxurious bedrooms. Malaya Dunes is uniquely suited for nature lovers with huge picture windows providing views of the pristine grounds. Pull your car into the breezeway-attached garage and plug in your electric vehicle. Take advantage of the home office for privacy and quiet. Then, take a book out into the shade of the covered outdoor seating, relax in the 7-person hot tub, and end your day chatting around the firepit.
A short drive will take you to the thriving downtowns of Saugatuck &Douglas, the world-renowned Oval Beach, many organic fruit farms, wineries and breweries, art galleries, and much more!

The driveway leading to Malaya Dunes takes you winding through the sand dunes to your private oasis. Given the severity of the inclines, this property is unavailable during the Winter months mid-December through February). We recommend having someone drive who is comfortable driving through steep, winding terrain.

Welcome to the Heart of the Art Coast!
Malaya Dunes is located in the scenic and charming Laketown Township. This area is in the heart of the fruit belt of Michigan and holds the third highest spot for agriculture production in the entire country! Bring those apple and berry pickin' fingers — you're going to need ‘em! Also, if you didn't already know, Michigan is a HUGE beer-loving state. There are over 10 breweries in the surrounding areas and our sandy soil and close proximity to the lake makes for the perfect hops growing conditions!
A short drive will take you to the creative and cultural centers of Saugatuck & Douglas. Honored by Midwest Living Magazine as 2020’s Best Beach Town, Saugatuck satisfies everyone from young families to refined art collectors to pleasure-seeking party groups. There truly is something for everyone in this lively and thriving hub. Nearby sister city Douglas offers more of the same fun for all ages with a slightly more laid-back vibe.
Did I mention the beaches?!? Breathtaking Oval Beach is only a short drive away and Conde Nast Traveler has ranked it in the top 25 best shorelines in the world! That's right, the WORLD! Get active at nearby state parks, take advantage of gorgeous hiking and biking trails and let adventurers try their luck climbing and running down majestic forested dunes lining the shoreline.

We hope you never need to cancel your time away, but in the event that you do, guests are advised that any cancellation prior to 30 days will result in a $149 processing fee or 3.9% of the total reservation, whichever is greater. Cancellations between 7-30 days prior arrival date will result in a 50% forfeiture of total reservation plus $149 processing fee. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival date will result in a 100% forfeiture of the total reservation. We recommend securing your trip with a travel insurance company should the need to cancel your reservation occur outside of the allotted window.

Your pup is on vacation too and we want them to be just as spoiled and comfortable! Each of our Pet Friendly Properties has a doggie basket filled with Food & Water Bowls, Waste Bags, Waterless Pet Shampoo, a Doggie Towel, Spot Remover, and some Treats. Please make us aware of your pets visit so we can prepare the property for them. Our Pet Fee is $145 and will be added to the total for the reservation.
