Nestled in the valley of our beautiful Michigan sand dunes, SKOVHUS is surrounded by the natural beauty of the area's vast array of flora and fauna. Awaken your senses at this stunning property located within a 10-minute walk to Oval Beach, the iconic Mt. Baldhead, and The Saugatuck Chain Ferry. Your group will be perfectly secluded amongst the trees, yet within minutes of everything this area has to offer!
The Scandinavian architecture of SKOVHUS brings simplistic elegance to your stay. This home is tastefully filled with beautiful, original artwork and objects from around the world, high-end custom finishings that have been expertly crafted by local woodworkers, and modern appliances, all of which make you feel like you're staying at a 5-star resort. Indulge in our fabulous shower products from Malin & Goetz and our artisanal bath products from Michigan's Soap Shed. The kitchen is jam-packed with fabulous amenities like our Coffee and Tea Bar with our own Art Coast Signature Blend of coffee from Uncommon Coffee Roasters, a variety of teas from Michigan Made tea company Fraser Teas, tons of basic (and not so basic) cooking spices, robust olive oil & succulent balsamic, flour & sugar, the list goes on and on. Our sleeping accommodations are dressed with crisp percale sheets from Parachute and luxurious pillows (no need to worry about bringing your own here!). You will also find fluffy bath towels and Turkish cotton robes gracing the stunning bathrooms. After you’ve sampled the local food and drinks—many grown right here in this top-producing agricultural region—and shopped at our many independent boutiques, head out into Pure Michigan natural beauty at our gorgeous beaches, trails, and state parks. Nearby Oval Beach was ranked by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the top 25 best shorelines on the entire planet! Rent a watercraft or take a dip in sparkling, immaculate Lake Michigan, then climb our mountainous sand dunes to shady wooded trails.
Want to get active outside? Oval Beach is a 10 minute walk away, and Conde Nast Traveler has ranked it in the top 25 best shorelines in the world! That's right, the WORLD! State-known hiking and biking trails fill the area, and gorgeous state parks with majestic forested dunes line the shoreline. Fishing, boating, kayaking—you name it, we’ve got it! We hope you never need to cancel your time away, but in the event that you do, guests are advised that any cancellation prior to 30 days will result in a $149 processing fee or 3.9% of the total reservation, whichever is greater. Cancellations between 7-30 days prior arrival date will result in a 50% forfeiture of total reservation plus $149 processing fee. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival date will result in a 100% forfeiture of the total reservation. We recommend securing your trip with a travel insurance company should the need to cancel your reservation occur outside of the allotted window.

Your pup is on vacation too and we want them to be just as spoiled and comfortable! Each of our Pet Friendly Properties has a doggie basket filled with Food & Water Bowls, Waste Bags, Waterless Pet Shampoo, a Doggie Towel, Spot Remover, and some Treats. Please make us aware of your pets visit so we can prepare the property for them. Our Pet Fee is $145 and will be added to the total for the reservation.
